Join us for this informative seminar dedicated to the correct techniques of Customs classification under the U.S. Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTSUS). Under the Customs Modernization Act, it is YOUR responsibility to properly classify goods and assign the appropriate HTSUS number. Whether you are a customs broker, importer, forwarder, or drawback claimant, it is essential to learn and understand tariff classification and the elements of internal controls relating to classification and applicable duty rates.
Our speakers are knowledgeable, experienced, and qualified experts in Customs matters. In this seminar, you will learn the how-to's of classifying your goods from both Customs' and the filers' perspectives. Some topics covered will include: the General Rules of Interpretation, use of the Explanatory Notes, ruling letters, and data management strategies for maintaining product level classifications. There will also be an interesting array of real sample items and a look at how the classification was determined. A networking reception will follow immediately after seminar – and THAT’S NO APRIL’S FOOL!
